The Learner's Library: Minibeasts

Screen Shots

Main screen

The main menu displayed when the program starts, allows access to the information pages, activities, glossary, scrapbook and teacher settings.

Minibeast browse menu

All the minibeasts featured can be accessed by the browse menu.  This is broken down into three categories.

Minibeast menu

Each category menu features a selection of minibeasts.  The player simply clicks any one to access the information page.

Index

The illustrated index is useful for quickly finding information.  This is also great for literacy subjects.

Search facility

The search facility enables the player to enter a search term to return a list of results.  The smart-search facility enables a match to be made even if they've spelt the word wrongly.

Glossary

The glossary is fully spoken and details all the difficult words used throughout the program.

Information page

Each information page contains an image and text.  All text is fully narrated and provided at two levels of difficulty.  Some entries also feature video footage.

Activities menu

The activities menu provides easy access to the three simple activities included.

Odd one out

The player must try and spot the picture card that is the odd one out.

Counting minibeasts

The player must count the minibeasts they see in this game and type in their answer.

Find the minibeast

In this game, the player must identify and find the correct minibeast.
